British company wins contract to light up Manchester Airport

Manchester based MHA Lighting has secured a contract to supply LED lighting to Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 & 3 car parks.

The forward-thinking firm, which specialises in innovative lighting solutions, triumphed over national lighting firms to transform the design of the car park fittings at the UK’s fourth busiest airport.

MHA Lighting created a powerful retrofit solution which replaces the two thousand 80w bulbs across the two car parks with 30 and 40 Watt LED units in a move which will halve carbon emissions and cut energy bills by an estimated 60%.

Jonathan Beswick, Manchester Airport Project Technician, said:  “After several months of trialling numerous lighting technologies and designs, MHA Lighting’s bespoke retrofit LED solution outshone all others. We were particularly impressed with the speed and efficiency of MHA Lighting to design, fit and test their product to our stringent criteria. The end product has exceeded our expectations.”

Tom Harrison, Managing Director of MHA Lighting, said: “The LED lighting contract for Manchester Airport is major boost for British innovation, technology and manufacturing. Time was a big factor in this project and from initial meeting to delivery took less than six weeks.”

MHA Lighting specialises in the design and manufacture of interior and exterior LED lighting solutions for the public sector, retail, office space, car parking and garage forecourts and more.

MHA Lighting offers a patented British LED lighting solution that can deliver up to an 85% reduction in lighting energy costs, virtually zero maintenance and 10 times longer life. www.mhalighting.com
